PYP First Grade Entrance Requirements
1. Identify basic colors and shapes.
2. Count and identify numbers from 1 - 20.
3. Say days of the week and months of the year in order.
4. Know the spatial positioning and directions words
5. Be able to carry on a basic conversation.
6. Follow one and two steps instructions. Work independently.
7. Possibly recognize letters of the alphabet.

PYP Second Grade Entrance Expectations
1. Mathematics
Number: addition and subtraction up to 100; comparation of numbers - knowing what is more / less and money value
Pattern and functions: recognizes and describes 2-D shapes and odd and even numbers to 20
Shape and space: knows vocabulary for 2-D shapes
Measurement: understands units of time days, months, minutes, hour, halfhour
can reasonably estimate weight and length
Data handling: Classify and sequence objects and picture
2. Language Arts
Reading: Perceives oneself as a confident reader, tries to make meaning out of text, recognizes frequently used words
Writing: Spells some high frequency words correctly, can often use capital letters in the beginning of sentence and full stop at the end
3. Oral communication
is able to demonstrate understanding of events and speak about that

PYP Third Grade Entrance Expectations
1. Mathematics
Numbers: Add and subtract multi-digit numbers horizontally and vertically, use 2,5 and 10 multiplication table
Pattern and function: Recognizes, desribes pattern in numbers to 100
Space and shape: Identify lines of symetry and knows vocabulary of 2-D and 3-D objects
Measurement: Understands centimeter and meter correlation and can measure in grams
Data handling: Understands Venn diagram and simple frequency tables and bar graphs
2. Language Arts
Reading: Reads for pleasure, borrow books from library; can identify different text forms and talk about them
Writing: Student understands and uses writing terminology, speech marks, exclamations marks, commas; recognizes sight vocabulary including high frequency words, 100 most used; uses alphabetical order to the second letter;
3. Oral communication
Is confident using language speaks clearly, is able to express and justify opinion, is able to discuss events and compares similarities and differences
PYP Fourth Grade Entrance Expectations
1. Mathematics
Number: addition and subtraction 2-digit and 3-digit numbers; relationship between plus and minus and problem solving; uses symbols less than, greater than; recognize negative number in context; understands and applies multiplication tables up to 10, can do division facts corresponding to multiplication tables up to 10; read and write whole numbers to 10000 numerically
Pattern and functions: can make models of rectangles; use appropriate mathematical language to describe patterns;
Shape and space: classify geometrical objects and shapes according to their attributes; identify irregular shapes; compares symetries;
Measurements: Recognize relationship between kilogram and gram; estimate and read time; measure area, perimeter, temperature, length, volume, weight
Data handling: construct simple graph; use Venn diagram;
2. Language arts
Reading: identify paragraphs and columns, quotation marks; can make predictions based on text; uses dictionaries and thesaurus; can locate information on CD-roms and access relevant sites on the Internet
Writing: Demonstrates mechanics of handwriting; can apply spelling patterns; can use homonyms and homophones; can use spell check; uses correct sentence structure and consistent tense; uses punctuation and capitalization appropriately
3. Oral communication
Discusses range of topics and issues; sequences events in order; and improvises on text; is able to present his project appropriately
PYP Fifth Grade Entrance Expectations
1.Mathematics
Numbers: Division and symbols, Thousands, Millions, Billions, Trillions and Expanded Notation, Roman numerals, Fraction of a number
Pattern and functions: Rounding to 10, 100, 1000 and estimation, simple equations
Shape and space: Parallel and perpendicular lines, finding area of 2-D objects
Measurements: Volume, length and weight
2. Language arts
Reading: reads variety of books; understands concepts of print e.g Paragraph, columns apostrophes for expressioon; understands different genre and understand and knows when to use them; uses dictionaries, thesaurus, can locate information on the Internet;
Writing: effectively spells words uncommon spelling patterns; is able to use bank of known sight words and uses them effectively; uses proper mechanic of handwriting; correct sentence structure, tense; uses different sentence styles
3. Oral communication
can discuss and respond to variety of genre; improvises on text; can answer spontaneious questions; is able to formulate open-ended questions and draw conlusions
